Calling all Mountain Bike Divas or Dudes!
Have you been thinking about racing your mountain bike?
Have you wanted a fun way to try it out?
Do you already race but wished you could race a venue closer to home on local trails?
Have you raced before and been thinking about competing again?
If you answered 'yes' to any of the questions above, then the Orange County Mountain Bike Over the Hump Race Series is for you! Rock 'n Road is a proud sponsor of this event and will have a tent at the race to support and cheer on Rock 'n Road and Sho-Air racers.
• Everyone is welcome, beginners to experienced racers.
• Great course and venue for first time racers and experienced racers alike.
• The course is highly visible making it easy for your personal support team to cheer you on and hand-off bottles
• The venue is family friendly with picnic areas, grass, tons of shade and full restrooms.
• The venue is easily accessible after work from all over Orange County.
• The cost to pre-register and race is only $20!
Course:
4 - 6 mile loop throughout the Irvine Lake area. Course will consist of a mix of single track and fire roads, climbing and descending. Number of laps vary by class: Beginner 1 lap; Sport, 2 laps; and Experts 3 laps.
Dates:
Wednesday, August 26: 6 PM race start
Thursday, September 17: 6 PM race start

El Moro MTB Beginner Ride - NEW RECORD
Good Morning,WOW!!!!! We are so excited!
16 Riders..... As always pictures are already posted 4 female, all regulars 6 new riders Very Cool
Vladimir did the trip all the way from LA and he wants to attend it next week as well, because it was so much fun. He did a "superman”: Shows up in his beamer (not Jeep, LOL) in business clothes and just rips of his white shirt, tie and there was the team jersey! Same deal with his pants ... Girls were screaming!
One person said, it was like a big party! Lot's of laughs and chatting during the ride. Also quite a great view on the single tracks. One big long snake.... Believe it or not, but we did Rattle Snake. But of course with all the safety precautions and some were doing the “hike a bike thing ". Already got emails with appreciation and where is the next ride...
Big Props to Don for helping us, we definitely could not make it such a successful event without him.
We spoke a lot about the over the hump race, which I big junk of the regulars will use as their first race and test waters
Also the 10/24 Big Bear “Season Finale " is already a very popular theme for conversations ....

Divas on FaceBook
Hello Wonderful Divas-The RnR Divas have started a Facebook page and will begin to use it to post upcoming events and information. We will continue to send out information using the Yahoo Group until January 1, 2010.
After this date, we will be exclusively on Facebook.For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, Facebook is considered a 'social networking' site, and it is very fun and easy to use. It will allow for a more interactive approach to the group, and let everyone participate more readily. We will also be able to post an interactive calendar and ride information on our profile. Recall Notice - SRAM Chain 10 Speed Power Lock
SRAM is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to announce a voluntary product recall of SRAM 10 speed chain PowerLock connector links. SRAM has determined there is a potential for the PowerLock connector link outer plate to fail.
This presents a safety issue. As a result SRAM is retrieving and replacing all affected SRAM 10 speed chain PowerLock connector links from the marketplace.
SRAM is asking consumers owning one of these products to stop riding immediately and return their chains to any SRAM dealer for verification of the product date stamp and to obtain a free replacement PowerLock.
- SRAM 8 speed chains and PowerLinks are NOT affected.
- SRAM 9 speed chains and PowerLinks are NOT affected.
- SRAM 10 speed chains are NOT affected.
- ONLY 10 speed PowerLock connector links are affected.
PowerLock connector links date-stamped with letters M and N must be removed and replaced with new PowerLock connector links date-stamped with letters other than M and N.
If you believe you may have this chain on your bike, bring it by any one of our 4 Rock N Road locations to obtain a replacement.
